When mist widespread over the city, anger and decadence can be dismissed, and
only through the sound of 1976 one can feel rock as poetry. As distinctive
modern boys, 1976 stand for both exquisite taste and the spirit of
independence.

Their works contain elements from psychedelic-folk, Brit-pop,
electronic-rock, Glam Rock, to Modern Rock. People recognize unrestraint and
fallen from their live performance. There is no prejudice against Rock music
but creation of greater possibilities for music.

Named after the year they were born, 1976 was established in the summer of
1996, leading by vocalist A-Kai, and band members-guitarist Da-Ma, drummer Da
Shi Xuang, and bassist Zi-Jiao. For 12 years of insistence and great efforts,
1976 have became the icon of indie bands in Taiwan’s pop music. Their albums
have been acclaimed by media, “sense of direction (方向感)” and “encourage
with love (愛的鼓勵)” were awarded as Top 10 Mandarin albums by China Times
EntertainmentWeekly (中時娛樂周報).

On April 3 2009, 1976 was invited as the opening guest of Oasis Live Forever
Tour in Taipei, the first Taiwan band ever to perform as opening guest for a
top world-class rock band.
