本篇純粹針對巴特勒的說法回文  想提供一點更精確的說法

Butler在Gender Trouble一書中

是明確的說了  世人都以為同志是仿擬異性戀模式而有了butch/femme的模式

而她在書中最要強調的一點便是  所謂的異性戀模式並非原型  也非源頭

真正理想化(ideal)的純正異性戀並不存在

因此  人們才要透過不斷的仿擬(performative)讓性別成為一種“真實“的存在

我手邊這本Gender Trouble是1999年再版

引用第191頁的說法  大概可以概括說出Bulter對性別(gender)的看法

[...] rather, gender is an identity tenuously constituted in time, instituted

in an exterior space through a sylized repetition of acts. The effetc of

gender is produced through the stylization of the body and, hence, must

be understood as the mundane way in which bodily gestures, movemnts, and

styles of various kinds constitute the illusion of an abiding gendered self.

大概的意思是說  透過我們形於外的肢體表現、造型  我們型塑了一個性別的假象


總的來說  Bulter在這本書中是絕對不贊同  同志是“模仿“異性戀伴侶模式

而是世人皆被異性戀模式框住了思惟  進而以為異性戀模式是唯一的典範(norm)

於本書192頁中她就這麼說了

"If gender attributes and acts, the various ways in which a body shows or

produces its cultural signification, are performative, then there is no

preexisting identity by which an act or attribute might be measured; there

would be no true or false, real or distorted acts of gender, and the

postulation of a true gender identity would be revealed as a regulatory

fiction."


Bulter這本書主要是想倡導一個非二元對立的想法

也就是說  世界並非只有異性戀與同性戀如此簡約的二分

世界也並非只有兩種genders(feminitiy and masculinity)

如果對於男性化的女性有興趣的話  不仿看看另一本書

"Female Masculinity" by Judith Halberstam

這本書從電影、小說等等去探討男性化的女性的呈現方式

算是在masculinity研究中很特別的一個支線
