There’s picture in a silver frame
一張銀色相框的肖像
Hanging dusty on my wall
在我的牆上塵封已久
And two people with their eyes the same

Holding daisies I recall
記憶裡 手裡握著雛菊
And the baby in the sailor dress
穿著水手服
And the pigtails that was me
留著小辮子的小孩就是我
And the other was my mother
另一位是我的母親
On our Easter by the sea
我們在復活節的海濱留影
People tell me that I’m just like her
人們都說我們母女長得很像
And I wonder what they see
我想知道他們所見為何
She was a lady lace and cameo
她是個喜歡穿著蕾絲衣裳、佩帶瑪瑙的淑女
Not the gypsy that is me
並不是個吉普賽女郎 我才是
She spent her time making poetry
她安分地成日作詩
I spend my night making time
而我卻是喜歡徹夜不歸的叛逆孩子
And I wonder am I living
我只是想爭取我的青春時光
Partly her dreams partly mine
承載著她的夢想 也承載著我的
What would she think of too many men
不知道她是怎麼看待我那些男人們的
The lie I get lost in again and again
千帆過盡，卻無法辨識真心
The tears in the morning
夜夜玩樂
The booze and the blues in the night
早晨卻在淚中醒來
It’s been years now since I’ve seen her face
這些年我已不再見過母親
Heard her footsteps on the stair
我會聽到她的腳步聲上階梯
But just lately in my dreams at night
但只是在午夜夢迴時分
I will call her and she’s there
我呼喚著她的名
Looking pretty like she use to
她美麗依然
Before time and tears tore her apart
在我滿面淚水模糊之前
And she tell me that she loves me
她告訴我她愛我
Then she leaves me in the dark
之後便消逝無蹤
Mama don’t leave me Mama don’t go
媽媽別離開我 媽媽別走
You know the answer to all that I don’t know
妳知道我所有問題的答案
My dreams come up empty and my heart’s
我的夢想破滅
Lying dead on the floor
我的心已垂死
Mama don’t leave me Mama please stay
媽媽別離開我 媽媽請妳留下來
Mama I need you to show me the way
我需要妳的指引
I’m lost and I ‘m lonely and I can’t find my way anymore
我迷失、孤獨，無法再找到我的方向了
