- The Windmill Turns All The Same
I have been to Rome and to Corleone and I've
watched the sun set. I have danced you see,
round the gay Pari down all the streets that
haunted me.
The Cafe and the gentlemen's club, the parade
down to Moulin Rouge, the champagne and the
songs they sing, if you listen now you can hear
them all the way to the balconies in Calais
where a young fool might go insane your heart
might break. You might laugh or cry, well the
windmill turns all the same.
Have you had a walz with both eyes closed,
have you've been in love dear? Maybe once or
twice, for a thousand times(I've found myself
in sweet denial).
The Cafe and the gentlemen's club, the parade
down to Moulin Rouge, the champagne and the
songs thye sing, if you listen now you can hear
them all the way to the balconies in Calais
where a young fool might go astray your heart
might break. You might laugh or cry, well the
windmill turns...
It's late. I can hear the skyline say the I'm
miles and miles away from where I should be,
I'll turn home tonight so for one last times
I'll wave; to the gentlemen's club the parade,
to the Moulin Rouge, the champagne and the
girls who sing: I might laugh or cry, well
the windmill turns all the same.
