Tommy 看著櫥窗裡那只閃閃發亮的鑽石戒指，心思飄到了 Laura 身上。
「多麼漂亮的戒指！ Laura 一定很喜歡。」他心想著。
想歸想，這麼昂貴的東西他可負擔不起。他可以送花、送小禮物，但是
卻無法買一個 Laura 最需要的結婚戒指。
他嘆息著，想著今晚和 Laura 的約會，雙眼卻不由被一個大大的＄字號
給吸引住了。那是一個公告：「超級房車賽，現場報名。首獎 $1000 美元。」
比賽時間就在一個小時以後！
真是天無絕人之路！ Tommy 興沖沖地撥電話給 Laura。
「Laura 在洗澡，現在不能接電話，待會再打來好不好。」Laura 的媽媽說。
Tommy 看了看錶，時間來不及了。「請告訴 Laura,我現在有點事，今晚可能
晚一點到。」他想起 Laura 戴著那只亮晶晶的鑽戒，臉上泛起微笑：「還有，請
告訴她，我愛她。」
Tommy 開車來到賽車場報名，現場早擠滿了人潮，高手們摩拳擦掌，躍躍欲
試。Tommy 雖然是最年輕的一個選手，經驗、實力卻是頂尖的。而且為了 Laura,
他有信心贏得比賽。引擎怒吼著，隨著號誌燈的閃起，選手們衝出起跑線，循著
比賽的軌道，在死亡邊緣追逐千元獎賞。
沒有人知道到底出了什麼問題，Tommy 的車忽然冒出一股炙熱的火焰，火向
Tommy 借了旺盛的生命力，熊熊地舞著，爆裂著美麗的火花。人們把他從扭曲的
前座拖出來，聽到他微弱的氣息吐著難以分辨的聲音：
「告訴 Laura 我愛她....告訴 Laura 我需要她....告訴 Laura 不要為我
哭泣....我對她的愛....地老天荒....永不消逝....」
Laura 在教堂裡為 Tommy 的靈魂祈禱著。他就著樣走了，丟下她孤獨一人。
他的生命或許在幾億人口中只是滄海一粟，但是對 Laura，他是永遠不可磨滅的
回憶。在空無一人的教堂裡，她好像又聽到 Tommy 說：
「告訴 Laura 我愛她....告訴 Laura 我需要她....告訴 Laura 不要為我
哭泣....我對她的愛....地老天荒....永不消逝....」
哭泣....我對她的愛....地老天荒....永不消逝....」

我找不到貓王唱過這首歌的紀錄
原唱應該是1960 Ray Peterson的"Tell Laura I Love Her"專輯的
Tell Laura I Love Her
後來Ricky Valance在英國翻唱這首歌，這網頁有一點介紹

然後裡面說的Skeeter Davis在1961年的
"Here's the answer"專輯裡面回唱了"Tell Tommy I Miss Him"
