Things are oh-so-"smooth" for singer Rob Thomas and his band matchbox20.
Their summer release, 'mad season by matchbox twenty', is already double
platinum, and this week they shoot the video for "If You're Gone," the
second single from their sophomore album. Thomas is also in talks to record
a full album with "Smooth" collaborator Carlos Santana. Meanwhile, other
artists are knocking on his door - from R&B hit man Usher to a certain
rocker looking for more pop-chart satisfaction. "I might be able to sit
down with Mick Jagger and write something," says Thomas. "That would be the
pinnacle for me. I could pretty much go and "hang" myself [after that]."
