[外電] TIME雜誌百大人物 電影人篇-1

相信大家都知道時代雜誌每到5月都會評選100位具有影響力的人物
並且請其他名人撰寫介紹文吧!
除了為善不欲人知的台灣之光陳樹菊之外
時代雜誌自然也評選了不少電影界的人物
由於這裡是電影版,電影人物的特寫
加上另一個電影界的名人撰寫介紹文,應該還是符合版規
所以我就在這裡順便分享其中4位電影界的人物
當然,如果我有翻譯錯的地方,也歡迎各位指正

今天我先介紹英國諧星瑞奇葛維斯/功夫皇帝李連杰
小天王愛許頓庫奇,以及第一位金獎女導演凱薩林碧格洛

導讀：卡爾皮金頓是英國著名廣播名嘴，也是瑞奇葛維斯的合作夥伴，
他們從2001年起共同合作The Ricky Gervais Show至今，該節目曾多次轉換型式
播出，包括一般廣播與網路播客，今年開始該節目則與HBO簽約，作成動畫影集，
這也暗示了葛維斯的英式幽默在美國也吃得開，因為除了他製作的The Office
被NBC電視台高價買下版權之外，他主演的電影如"超感應妙醫"與"謊言先師"
也在美國開出不錯的票房

I'm not sure why Ricky Gervais' sort of humor is so popular, but I don't
worry about it. I remember the first time I met him — I thought he was going
to be trouble. He walked in with Steve Merchant, and they reminded me of that
film Twins, with Arnie and Danny DeVito.

我並不知道葛式幽默感為何會這麼受歡迎，但我並不擔心他有一天會失去這種
幽默的感覺。我永遠記得第一次遇見他時，就認為他是一個麻煩的人物，
當時他正與Steve Merchant（也是葛維斯的節目夥伴）一起走過來，讓我想起
阿諾與丹尼狄維托主演的「龍兄虎弟」

Is Ricky influential? I'll think about that the next time he's wrestled me to
the ground to squeeze my head. He's opened doors for me, but not in a good
way. He opens the locks on toilet doors with a coin when I'm using them. Me
calling Ricky, 48, influential would be like Einstein's mam calling Einstein
a genius. I doubt she ever did. I bet she just said she was proud of him but
wished he'd comb his hair.

老葛重要嗎？當我們下一次幹架他快要捏爆我的頭時，我也許會去想這個問題。
他總是對我敞開大門，可惜不是正面的那一種，因為他總是在我上廁所時，
用硬幣打開廁所的門。

我認為：老葛的重要性，就跟愛因斯坦的媽媽稱讚老愛是天才一樣，但我懷疑
愛媽媽曾經如此，我猜她只會說：她以這個兒子為榮，但也希望他把頭髮整理好吧

The first time my friend Jet Li and I talked about his One Foundation, which
he began to assist with disaster-relief efforts in China and beyond, he was
so passionate that I felt the only thing for me to do was to help. The
philosophy is based on giving everyone the chance to help, however small
their contribution. If everyone gives just $1, he says, then among all of us,
we could make a huge difference. What impressed me is that his program
focuses not just on the well-being of children who survive natural disasters
but offers psychological support as well.

當我的朋友Jet（李連杰的英文名）第一次跟我談到想幫助中國與其他地區災難戶
重建工作的「壹基金」時，他的熱情讓我感覺到我唯一要作的事情，就是幫助他。
這個原理是給每一個人幫助他人的機會，無論他們的貢獻有多少。他說：即使
每一個人只捐了1塊錢，我們也可以讓世界變得不一樣。

這個企劃讓我印象深刻的是，他不只著重在從災難中生存兒童的福利，也提供他們
心靈上的支援。

Jet, 46, is very charming, with a great smile — much more delicate than he
appears in films like Hero and Romeo Must Die. He calls me his sister, as he
likes to say we are now all part of one big family.

Jet的微笑相當有吸引力，甚至比他在「英雄」與「致命羅密歐」的模樣還要好看，
他說我就是他的姊姊，因為我們已經是這個大家庭的一份子了

「危機倒數」會有這麼大的感觸了。儘管近年來史東已經不再接觸戰爭電影，
但他的不少作品仍然保持對政府系統的批判與檢討，如他即將在9月上映的新片
"華爾街2"

Kathryn Bigelow's career journey has been a stark one. An artist by training,
she became a Hollywood darling with the neo-vampiric Near Dark. Her passion
for films that challenge conventional sympathies (crooked cops, a heroic
Russian submarine commander) led to long spells of being shunned by the
studios. But Bigelow, 58, always found her way back. And with The Hurt
Locker, her first feature in seven years, she captured the intense, skewered
madness of war and the distortion in men's souls. The result was two richly
deserved Oscars.

畢格洛的導演生涯是相當鮮明的，在成為受過訓練的藝術家之後，他以一部

導讀：吹牛老爹雖然以歌手與企業家的身分成名，不過他偶爾也會在電影中客串，
如即將在6月上檔的無厘頭喜劇Get Him to the Greek，這也不意外地讓他
與好萊塢的演員有更多交集

I first met Ashton Kutcher when we were both on MTV. He was doing Punk'd, and
I was doing Making the Band. For a while, with Jamie Foxx, we were a rat
pack, hanging out, going to clubs. I remember one night he was with Demi,
maybe for the first time, and a couple of weeks later he called to tell me he
was in love. That was the end of our clubbing.

我第一次遇見愛許頓時，我們都還在MTV工作。他正在製作「惡整名人」，
而我則籌畫選秀節目Making the Band。有一段時間，我們還與傑米福克斯共同

But we are still friends. Not that cliché of "Let's make a movie, let's do a
deal." He is a sounding board for me. Like me, he's a mogul — a new-media
mogul. But we are yin and yang: I am in your face, but he is understated,
cool, suave.

但我們還是朋友。不過，並不是那種「一起拍電影、做生意」的老梗。
對我來說，他是一個傳聲筒。就跟我一樣，他是個媒體大亨，而且是新媒體的

Most of us want to make as much money as we can, but Ashton, 32, is out to
make the world a better place. He is smart — smart enough to leave Punk'd
when he could still be making money at it. He has to have a heart in what he
does. What he and Demi do with Twitter is a good example. Most people use it
to promote themselves, but he uses Twitter to connect, to strike up
conversations, to send positive messages to the millions of people who read
his words. This guy will show us the future. And it's gonna be a blast.

我們這圈子的人，大部分都想賺更多錢，但是30出頭的愛許頓，卻想要讓世界
變得更好。他很聰明，聰明到他仍然能靠「惡整名人」賺錢時就離開了這個
節目。他是一個能用行動表達想法的人，他與黛咪在推特上的行為就是一個
好案例。大部分的使用者是為了要推銷自己，但他卻用他產生連結與引起對話，
並且將正面的訊息傳送給他數以百萬計的讀者。這小子讓我們看到未來，而且是
響亮的未來

PS：大家都知道愛許頓是推特的名人之一，實際上他還曾經在去年的時代百大人物
介紹推特的創辦人

這兩個人幫Time親自寫文章,應該也可以在這個板上分享吧!
