"Poltergeist" Remake to Shoot in September, First Details Revealed
Bloody-Disgusting has learned that director Gil Kenan (Monsters House) is
planning to begin shooting the "Poltergeist" remake in Toronto as soon as
September. The site also has the first story details.
In the new version, Eric Bowen loses his job and relocates his family to a
new town to start fresh. This is where his daughter, Madison, is abducted,
making Eric understand how important family is.
Other characters include Amy, Eric's wife, who can communicate with the dead.
There's also Carrigan Burke, a television personality who hosts "Haunted
House Cleaners" and isn't afraid of the supernatural. And finally, there's
Dr. Brooke Powell, who is Carrigan's ex-wife and a parapsychologist at a
local university. Her team investigates the supernatural events surrounding
the disappearance of the Bowen girl.
