Tobey Maguire commits to 'Life of Pi'

Tobey Maguire has committed to join Fox 2000's adaptation of Yann Martel's
bestselling novel "Life of Pi," which will re-team the actor with director
Ang Lee, who he previously worked with on "The Ice Storm" and "Ride With the
Devil."

陶比將成為"少年Pi的奇幻漂流"，這部根據暢銷小說改編電影劇組的一員
這也是他繼"冰風暴"以及"與魔鬼共騎"後，與李安的第三次合作

Newcomer Suraj Sharma stars as the title character, a boy who is cast adrift
in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger after it kills three other animals. Pic
co-stars Gerard Depardieu, Adil Hussain and Bollywood actress Tabu, who will
play Pi's mother.

當然，陶比的角色並不是片中主角
扛下這個大任的是新秀Suraj Sharma，他將在片中
被迫與一隻殺了三條其他動物的孟加拉虎共處在一艘漂流的舊生挺上

本片的演員陣容，還包括法國影帝傑哈德巴迪厄
飾演Pi爸的Adil Hussain與Pi媽Tabu

"Slumdog Millionaire" star Irrfan Khan will play the adult Pi, while Maguire
is set to play a writer who interviews him about his life-changing
experience.

Lee is directing the 3D pic from a script adapted by David Magee. Gil Netter
and David Womark are producing "Life of Pi," which is scheduled to drift into
theaters on Dec. 14, 2012.

奧斯卡提名片"尋找新樂園"的編劇David Magee，是本片的劇本負責人，
Gil Netter與David Womark則是本片的製片
前者也是奧斯卡提名片"攻其不備"的製作人，
而後者曾經與李安合作"綠巨人浩克"，並擔任該片的首席助理導演
與負責額外的攝影

這部由福斯子牌Fox 2000出品的電影，將會有3D規格
美國的檔期是在明年聖誕前夕

"I am delighted that Tobey has joined the film," said Lee. "He is one of my
favorite actors that I have had the pleasure of working with and I am so
excited that we get to work together for the third time."

Maguire next stars alongside Elizabeth Banks in Jacob Aaron Estes' dark
comedy "The Details," which The Weinstein Co. picked up at Sundance and will
release later this year. Thesp is gearing up to shoot Baz Luhrmann's
adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" this summer with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey
Mulligan. He's also producing the New Line musical "Rock of Ages" through his
Maguire Entertainment banner.

2.與李奧納多、凱莉穆莉根合演巴茲魯曼根據經典文學
改編的新片"大亨小傳"
