There is no doubt that among indigenous peoples and colonial armies, each
person sensitive to the issue of civil rights to choose to side with the
latter, as it is obvious that the invaders do more despicable action that
harms the system deeply existential populations that rightly have no
intention of being dominated. Violence Finsch to generate violence, to
trigger conflicts that can only end in a bloodbath. And these events do arise
hatred for generations and generations, until the memory will run its course.

The Taiwanese director Wei Te-Sheng tried to tell with Warriors of the
Rainbow: Seediq Bale really a story of this type. The nasty and ugly
(humanly) Japanese took possession of Taiwan in 1895 after a political treaty
and try to dominate the island's aboriginal naively, thinking simply be
higher and then crush them with ease. But the reality is far more complex and
fortitude, pride and attachment to the traditions of Seediq Bale factors
become indestructible.

Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale 's all here. Nothing more. This is a
work of absolute predictability that is based exclusively on the screen of
the opposition between "good" and "evil", between the idealization of
"ancestral civilizations" and contempt for the supposed "culture of modernity
and wealth."
The problem is the film lasts a hundred and fifty minutes and the whole
parable narrative is characterized by fierce fighting, the action scenes in
the jungle, shooting and sticking. Within two hours, the viewer is
overwhelmed by unnecessary splashes of blood and flying heads, mass suicides,
massacres with gas bombs.

To bring to light the tragic story of Seediq Bale was certainly no need to
submit the fuitore to one hundred fifty minutes of senseless carnage. The
director has decided to take the road most banal and tragically spectacular.
Among shameful reflection on high "banality of evil" and colonialism, and a
"butcher film", it is certainly easier (and perhaps more beneficial to the
economic level of evidence) to build a giant bloody sideshow rather than bore
the audience with an argument filsofico exploitation and oppression of man by
man.

The direction is predictable. Never a flicker, an invention, an
unconventional visual tract. Only daring races in the luxuriant nature,
screams, disemboweled bodies, gunfire, jugular severed, ambushes, massacres,
brutal revenge and murder. The inserts digital, then, are quite
insignificant. Indeed, not just technically sublime.
In the end, the rhetoric of protecting the harmony of peoples living in
harmony with nature (and who are strongly attached to their ancestral rules)
becomes so cumbersome that the emphatic and remarkable patterns that led to
the realization of this end up losing their undoubted strength.

Te-Sheng Wei That is certainly a missed opportunity. His work will probably
not be remembered because he did emerge from the abyss of the dramatic fate
of the History Seediq Bale but discounted because of the spectacular battle
scenes and tricks used by the aborigines to kill the Japanese soldiers.
In short, the film does not always makes a good service to historical events
and misfortunes of the people. But that's another story.

PLOT
1895. After I treated of Shimonoseki, Japan took possession of Taiwan. After
brief fighting, the Japanese implement their rule over the whole territory,
except for a mountainous area inhabited by the proud people of Bale Seediq

by leaders Mouna Rudo, Aborigines put in serious difficulty the Japanese
army, not accustomed to fighting in the jungle and along rugged trails. In
the end everything will end with a gruesome bloodbath.
