王者天下(Kingdom of Heaven)一些歷史真相

剛剛去查了一下維基百科，

略為研究了一下十二世紀末時耶路撒冷王國的歷史，

發現了一些和電影有明顯出入的記載：

第一個是關於 Baldwin IV (鐵面痲瘋國王)，

拖著重病的身軀，奮怒鞭笞 Raynald (紅鬍子騎士)，並親吻潰爛的手的那段，

看的觀眾大快人心，拍手叫好，也替鐵面國王加了好幾分。

但是實際上，

Later in 1186 Raynald attacked a caravan in which Saladin's sister
was travelling, breaking the truce between Saladin and the Crusaders.
King Guy chastised Raynald in an attempt to appease Saladin, but
Raynald replied that he was lord of his own lands and that he had
made no peace with Saladin.

電影把 Guy (蓋，因為和女主角 Sibylla 的婚姻當上耶路撒冷王)鞭打紅鬍子的片段

讓給了鐵面王去演。鐵面王早在前一年(1185年)就死於痲瘋病

這個連結有提到鐵面王想要解除他妹妹與蓋的婚約，

至於是不是要嫁給男主角貝里昂，那多半是電影人的編造。

According to Hamilton, there was no evidence to suggest princess Sibylla was
herself disgraced by her second husband's actions, or even held in disfavour
by the king, but in the early months of 1184 Baldwin attempted to have the
marriage between Sibylla and Guy annulled.


至於最後，西碧拉混在人群中走掉，貝里昂很帥氣的走道她旁邊搭訕說：

"A princess never walks."

最後兩個人還一起回到法國(/還是歐洲某國)鄉村，一起騎馬去兜風的破關畫面，

肯定是呼弄的。

Guy was imprisoned in Damascus, while Sibylla remained behind to defend
Jerusalem, which was handed over to Saladin on October 2. Sibylla wrote
Saladin and begged for her husband's release, and Guy was finally granted
release in 1188 and allowed to rejoin his wife. Guy and Sibylla sought
refuge in Tyre, the only city remaining in Christian hands, thanks to
the defense of Conrad of Montferrat.

可見西碧拉非但沒有跟著賣城的貝里昂私奔，

還寫信給薩拉丁，拜託他把老公還給她，最後兩個一起到黎巴嫩的 Tyre 。


另外從 1187.07.04 耶路撒冷大軍在哈丁戰役(the Battle of Hattin)被徹底擊潰後，

一直到 1187.10.02 耶路撒冷城投降為止，守護城的領袖都是寫皇后西碧拉。


中世紀時期的回教世界文化昌明，特別在醫學上面高出其他地區甚多，

所以電影中，鐵面王和薩拉丁和談後，

薩拉丁答應派遣醫療團隊協助治療痲瘋病，大概是基於這個原因。
