NEWS - Bush's Gavin Rossdale & No Doubt's Gwen Stefani Announce Engagement

(1/9/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale popped the question to
No Doubt's singer Gwen Stefani on New Year's Day and she accepted. The duo
are in the process of setting a date for later in 2002. Rossdale told LAUNCH
that the events of September 11 accelerated the duo's relationship to take
steps towards engagement and marriage.
"It's not that I never considered them, but it definitely accelerates things.
I just look at my own family and I look at how precious everyone is to me.
My mom and my dad and I think about the amount of time I spend away from them
and how sweet and helpful they are to me," he said. "Those kinds of things,
so those kind of things accelerate what I think about Gwen and what I think
I should do, in some ways, that kind of affects stuff."
