I saw thee weep－the big bright tear
Came o'er that eye of blue;
And then methought it did appear
A violet dropping dew;
I saw thee smile－the sapphire's blaze
Beside thee ceased to shine;
It could not matchthe living ratys

Asclouds from yonder sun receive
A deep and mellow dye,
Which scarce the shade of coming eve
Can banish from the sky,
Those smiles unto the moodiest mind
Their own pure joy impart;
Their sunshine lwaves a glow behind

我見過你哭－－晶瑩的淚珠，
從藍眼睛滑落，
像一朵夢中出現的紫羅蘭，
滴下清透的露珠。
我見過你笑－－連藍寶石的光芒
也因你而失色，
它怎比得上在你凝視的眼神中，
閃現的靈活光彩！
就如同夕陽為遠方的雲朵
染上絢爛的色彩，
緩緩而來的暮色也不能
將霞光逐出天外；
你的笑容讓沉悶的心靈
分享純真的歡樂，
這陽光留下一道光芒
照亮了心靈上空。
