The park was empty, and it was mine!
Dropp'd the shoes, and discard'd the book,
I was to absorb the joy to the utmost.
On the swing I threw myself to the sky,
As if my nose had drain'd the etherial good
And my lips never so close
To give the azure a secret kiss.
But there came two masculine Beings,
One of which in a single vest;
And I swung myself low
When they approach'd,
High again when they were far away,
But with shame.
Because I was a boy.
Because I was a boy.
Thinking of this,
Suddenly it did not matter whether the park was empty,
I ran home with full speed
To conceal the erected tragedy.
