Sadly my obsessed heart could not embrace The endless grass of Eastern meadowland, Nor the marine splendor of the Green Island Could derail my fixed eyes from the same face, That bade me sense no alternative grace. O despise me not, Nature fair and grand, For my numbness, grant me a grain of sand, So I can see a new world* of solace, Where her hands I seek no more to obtain, That my unworthiest ones dare no more to stain. Canonized is her image in the shrine Of my pious heart, and right on the altar Sacrificed is my dead desire afar, Sublimated to Love sheer and divine. *:"Auguries of Innocence" by William Blake -- Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.45.210.80
