i. Doubts have been cast upon my sullen verse, And so upon my aloof flesh and soul. The lines woven in despond soundly toll The knell of its weaver's wandering hearse, Where I lie self-coaxed, ceaselessly to nurse My devotion to a fake Muse, a doll Falsely fair, casting me in a sad role, In which I blindly believe in a curse: "That full-grown pain does outlive infant glee, And Amorous Delight carves not as deep On human heart, as worry, fear, and woe." Behold me lost in this abysmal sleep! O Eve truly fair! Let it not be so! Deny me not! Save my poetry! Save me! ii. Deny me not! Save my poetry! Save me! Lest I shall fall again down to the Vale, Where vacant desires senselessly prevail My wish from this ascetic dungeon to flee. O Eve, in sheer innocence I sense thee, Deceived by He who Free Love does blackmail With Holy Racks extracting human wail, So be thy misty eyes unveiled to see! As I re-take the quill of faithful Love, For thee a shrine of joy I shall re-form Deposing the Deities of gloomy Poet To sketch in Amorous Delight thy fair'st form As my Muse on the renewed altar above, Only if thou ask: "write me a sonnet!" -- Where words fail, music speaks. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.46.195.154
