Old Grandmom's grave thoughts Flashed back–lightly as a dove, To the Japanese-occupied Taiwan. A carefree damsel she was, Roaming with the dragonflies Gliding over swaths of green paddies. The sapphire skies turned deadly grey As the B-29 bombers by the US air force Blazed over the cloud-dotted aerial passage And poured down drizzles of missilery. The march of joy dropped in prestissimo And young Grandmom scattered for her life Toward a nearby cellar as a safe haven– A ritual she had been quite accustomed to. "Time has changed," she said. "But thirst for peace and freedom Remains in people's mind," she said. ------------------------------------ PS.
