I knew instantly when she came in
She took the seat next to me
I offered her a chocolate biscuit
She went "Yummy yummy!" like a kid
Then I said to her "How are you doing?"
She looked at me kind of funny
As though I was speaking a foreign language
On a piece of paper writing down the words
"Oh...gooood!" She understood finally
"Chopped, mud-cake, creepy"
I wasn't sure if I heard what I thought I heard
She grabbed the pen and showed me what she meant
"Shopped, hair-cut, coffee"
"Oh! Did you go shopping on your own?"
She nodded
"Wow! Your hair looks stunning!"
She nodded
"You like coffee, huh?"
She nodded.
"So how old are you, Gin?"
"17!" She said happily
And wrote down the number "70"
