“Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.” So begins the well-known tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, anent two star-struck lovers, each one from a house that loathes the other; he a Montague and she a Capulet, yet destined both to fall in love, and into the same grave. Act one presents a quarrel in the streets, a tussle – thankfully, no one is hurt. From this, we see reciprocated there the hatred that defines the two great clans and brings about the doom that is to come. Act two: out struts the suitor Paris, one who wants, and almost gets dear Juliet, against her will. Such is the case back then of marriage rites and marriage politics. During her family’s resplendent ball, she sets her sights, and lips, on our main man – on Romeo, sworn enemy in blood. As Paradise exists before the Fall, the love of hero and of heroine is brightest and most blinding in the night: the celebrated balc’ny scene that we present to you. Hark! ‘Tis Benvolio! Hear what he says: “Go then, for ‘tis in vain To seek him here that means not to be found.” -- A friend is someone who will pay your bail to get you out of jail. A good friend is someone who will be sitting right next to you, saying, "Damn! That was fun!" http://www.wretch.cc/blog/spacedunce5 http://www.wretch.cc/blog/jsengstudio -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.228.82.26 ※ 編輯: spacedunce5 來自: 61.228.82.26 (10/01 00:50)
