The Beast Within
I felt the dirt between my fingers,
Under my nails,
Breathed it,
Tasted it,
Lived it蔊I buried the monster deep,
Under a nightmare,
A daydream,
A chance,
A reality蔊How could I have forgotten,
To mark the grave,
No words,
No name,
No hope蔊Years of fight, flight, and blood,
I couldn't carve it out,
Remnants remain,
Scars remain,
Fears remain蔊Misplacing my step in the darkness,
The monster returns,
I scream,
I wonder,
I cry蔊My strength but an indigo-painted canvas,
Elaborately masking the truth,
It breaths,
It roars,
It lives蔊
