It's Time
The darkness is coming again.
Here's where my hiding begins.
But not this time--NO WAY!
I've finally got something to say.
I've walked on egg shells around you,
for way to long.
I'm tired of you leaving and I'm tired of you coming back
singing that same old song.
It's time I come out and say what I FEEL.
If you don't like it, oh well..I'm REAL
I'm tired of your games,
I'm tired of your rules.
Do you ever put your heart in anything?
Or are you always playing the fool?
This pain I'm sick of--
You're the reason I'm ready to leave.
It's my turn to break your heart.
And it's my turn to lie and deceive.
I'm sick of you acting like
we all owe you this!
Well, I'm here to say, Respect is earned
and I don't owe you shit!
Every time you go away you always
return with nothing but lies.
But can you really tell her that you
love her when you look into her eyes?
Is there something I missed that
you guys have not told?
Because I'm ready to be quite frank
this bullshit is getting old.
You can't choose your girl.
Your lousy heart is confused.
Even though you've told me...
who you really wanna choose.
Why don't you accept
the reality of it all?
Would you rather jump
or risk the fall?
Your confusing us all here.
I don't know what's going on.
Everyday I procrastinate.
I'd rather do anything than
come home.
I'm mad and angry confused and sad
I'm not sure who you are anymore..
Your certainly not my dad.
You haven't been for years,
So, why start now?
Do you expect immediate forgiveness.
For us to forget it all, somehow?
Well, no one's going to...
and that's life.
You didn't have to cheat and lie,
and hand the family all this pain and strife.
I'm done with you and your games.
I'm no longer the quiet one.
I've learned to speak my mind.
This time I'll be who won.
