這說法太模糊
美國高中生會讀莎士比亞那個年代的東西沒錯
但是那已經是現代英文 他們高中生(或國中生)讀過去大概看的懂
下面舉一例 大家看了就明白了
To Daffodils
by Robert Herrick. 1591–1674
FAIR daffodils, we weep to see
You haste away so soon;
As yet the early-rising sun
Has not attain'd his noon.
Stay, stay 5
Until the hasting day
Has run
But to the evensong;
And, having pray'd together, we

古英文也來一例好了
