SMASHING PUMPKINS are to webcast their gig from
LOS ANGELES last month, which was the first live
show they played after announcing they are to split.
The band recorded their show at the Universal
Amphitheater on May 23 this year, and will webcast
it on July 13 at 2pm and 10pm EDT via the website
www.virginjamcast.com, and the official Smashing
Pumpkins website www.smashingpumpkins.com.
The gig took place on the same day that Pumpkins
vocalist Billy Corgan announced on LA radio station
KROQ that the group were to call it a day, after a
decade. At the time he said: "We felt that we had
sort of come to the end of our road - emotionally,
spiritually, musically."
Speaking about the webcast Billy Corgan said: "1994
was the last time we released a video with any live
footage. This is a great opportunity for everyone
who missed the last US tour to see a high-quality
webcast of the band live in concert."
As previously reported on nme.com, the band are to
perform their last ever UK tour for October. They
play:
Glasgow SECC (October 30)
Manchester Apollo (31)
Birmingham NEC (November 1)
Wembley Arena (3)
