I guess I was wrong but I'm not sure.
The calibrators are probably all radio-quiet quasars.
Radio-loud ones usually have lobes or jets, right?
These cannot be used as calibrator.
Nevertheless, there are enough quasars for calibration usage.
To see whether they are radio-loud or radio-quiet, you can
go to the VLA calibrator list:
http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/~gtaylor/csource.html
to see what the typical flux is. Then you can check any AGN
book to see what the common devision flux between radio-loud
and radio-quiet is.
