[問題]寫信委婉拒絕教授的寫法

請問板上的前輩 小弟昨日接到Virginia Tech ECE教授打來的電話
(還有三封信附上關於他們實驗室的一些paper)表示對我的興趣
(這教授是我當初在申請時有主動提及有興趣跟的教授)

但是我已經收到University of Wisconsin-Madison的錄取(並且還在等別間).
所以想直接委婉的回絕教授. (不想耽誤彼此的時間)
想請教大家我該怎麼寫較為恰當?

(他只說他覺得我的背景很適合他的實驗室
他的實驗是有經費
也有收過來自台灣的學生 表現很好 聊了大概十分鐘.

我感覺到他的熱情, 但重點是學校沒有來信錄取我
且教授也沒有明確說要收我 我該如何寫才不會讓他覺得我不禮貌 或是 自作多情)

以下是他的來信和我擬好的回函 請板上先進幫我看看並提供一點意見

教授來函:
Dear XXX,

I recall that you have contacted me before. (<-其實教授記錯了>< )
What is your application status? I attached my own CV
here for your reference, so you could know better who
we are and what we do. I also attached our recent papers
published in Nature Reviews.

I have one visiting student from National Tsing Hua U.
His name is XXX. I attached his ongoing manuscript here.
Please read and let me know what you think.

Dear Prof. XXX,

I am sorry for replying so late because I am currently in
military service.

Thank you very much for offering much valuable information
about the theme of you and your lab.
I really enjoy your interdisciplinary results
about electrical engineering and biology.
It was a difficult decision to make, but, after a
thoughtful consideration, I am sorry to notify you
that I have to decline this opportunity to work in your lab
since I was admitted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I sincerely appreciate your kindness for thinking highly of me.

→ slap:然後最後可以添加『希望以後還有合作的機會...』
