這裡是問題,
如果你考過213(紙筆550),為何要念ELI?
是不是說,
那間學校的錄取條件是托福高過600(紙筆成績)者免念ELI直接入學,
未到600者,必須至少有550然後再念完ELI才能正式入學?
你最好再寫信去問清楚,不然就是再學校網站去確認一下錄取條件.
現在唯一能確定的就是憑你目前的托福成績是肯定不會被這間學校錄取了,
再考一次是躲不掉的.
他要你做決定,
是在問你希不希學校保留所有有關你的檔案,等你新的托福成績出爐,
還是說你要直接放棄申請,他們就要把你的檔案close掉了.
這是老美的作風,
即使你目前的選擇只有一種---再考一次托福,
他們還是會說一句"Let me know what you decide"
因為你永遠可以選擇放棄不要申請.
這是老美看事情的態度:你永遠可以說不,只是後果你要自己負責.

應該是覺得你TOEFL成績太差了
需要ELI program加強英文能力 so 即使你達到了213的標準
他也認為你在英文的使用上會有窒礙難行影響學習的麻煩
至於決定 學校當然都是採"建議""要求"你重考
這是假設法 就像英文用suggest demand等+that子句表假設
你不一定會照做
只是如果你要申請他們學校 變成了你不得不做囉
不重考 我想committee也不會將你的申請列入考量了

我去年也跟你一樣 差三分到標準
差三分不到標準 他就是不錄取我윊
學校給我 conditional acception.
如果報名ELI - Englich Language Institute.就讓我進去
我是覺得上ELI不值得 又貴又浪費時間 還不算學分
所以我就再考一次托福 過了錄取標準
那封信是讓你知道
你現在的成績不達錄取標準
如果你報名ELI 就馬上錄取你
不然就得再考一次托福 考過213
他才會考慮收你
一學期ELI的學費 可以考二十幾次托福吧
看你有沒有把握考過213囉
