*他應該是說「打球的動作」（動詞 + 受詞）寫法，而非「球類運動」（名詞）。
- "Play ball" can include ball games of the simple kind as well as
having the specific meaning of baseball.
- But it is correct that in the expression "play ball" or "ball game"
"ball sport", "ball" is always singular.

- "To play ball" is an idiom meaning* to agree to do what
someone asks you to do, or to agree to work with someone
in order to achieve something together
* to play ball with somebody 有個跟字面無關的意思。所以上下文很重要。
