※ 引述《Debbymona (花蓮真是好山好水好好玩!)》之銘言: : I, who ___ your son, is going to do this for you. -- ?????? Part I. Practical English Usage, 3rd ed., by Michael Swan section 498.12 agreement of person Most relative clauses have third-person reference; I who ..., you who ... and we who ... are unusual, though they sometimes occur in formal style. [Irrelevant Examples] A different kind of first- and second-person reference is commom in the relative clauses of cleft sentences. However, the verb is usually thrid-person, especially in an informal style. It's me that's responsible for the organisation. (More formal: It is I who am responsible...) --------- section 131.2 It is I who ...; It is me who ... When an emphasised subject is a pronoun, there are two possibilities. - It is I who am responsible. (formal) It is me that's/who's responsible. (informal) To avoid being either too formal or too informal in this case, we could say, for example, I'm the person/the one who's responsible. ----------------------------------------------------------- Part II 1. http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/ask-teacher/67169-concord-2.html Ronbee (母語人士,論壇的Moderator之一) 認為這種說法 (It is I who...) 很不自然 2. www.englishforums.com/English/ItsYouWhoIsAreAnsweringMe/dcwdz/post.htm#262772 CalifJim (論壇的moderator之一,他的回覆都很有水準) 引述相關部份,其他請自己看 Taking I am tired as the base sentence, the four cleft versions which are possible are: It is I who am tired. (Nominative, number, person) It is I who is tired. (Nominative, number) It is me who am tired. (Objective, number, person) It is me who is tired. (Objective, number) [...] My understanding, right or wrong, is that the most formal and academic usage requires the It is I who am pattern, i.e., nominative case and both number and person agreement. Some people argue that I who is is fine. I don't think anyone argues in favor of me who am. My impression is that, informally in conversation, me who is might be used. [...] Where I live, hardly anybody uses the forms shown above very much. We prefer to express the same meaning with the following paradigm: I'm the one who's tired. You're the one who's tired. He's/She's the one who's tired. We're the ones who are tired. You're the ones who are tired. They're the ones who are tired. 3. http://www.english-test.net/forum/ftopic12178.html 提問者問 It is I who was/is ... Mister Micawber 並沒有說這樣子寫是大錯特錯 (└母語人士,在日本教英文的 EFL 老師) 4. http://www.englishforums.com/English/ItIsIWhoItIsYouWho/wdzm/post.htm CalifJim: "It is I who am ..." is the more conservative form, "...I who is ..." being more modern. 僅予參考 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 220.134.53.250
