一篇閱讀中的文章如下
      A-ya is a famous artist in Taiwan. She is not from rih family, but
studying abroad ______ always benn her dream.
      One year ago, she decided to quit her job and leave for the USA.
Everyone was surprised and couldn't believe she would give up her show
business.............
      A-ya has gone to the USA for a year, and her fans in Taiwan miss
her very much. ......They want A-ya to know that they will wait for her
coming.


請問空格中該填入的是 has 或 had <<< 之前打錯


答案給的是 had ，請問該如何解釋?

我的想法是因為下文提到她已經去美國留學了，所以對她來說，去國外念書這件事情
已經是過去的夢想。
但是好像又覺得卡卡的....
請問該如何解釋較好?
