※ 引述《stukpe (風)》之銘言: : 標題: [國中] in a ferry 或是 on a ferry? there's / there is接單一個複數名詞還可以說是口語非正式用法, 但there is + N, N, and N.這種接多個名詞卻不見得不「正確」... 多數的文法書只是籠統的說There's + 複數名詞是口語, 但卻沒有去處理There is + N, N, and N.的問題... 我看<<Practical English Usage>>和<<A Comprehensive Grammar of The English Language>>似乎都沒談到,有的話還請告訴我一下,因為書實在很厚,我難免翻漏~ 但<<Longman Grammar of Spoken and written English>> 2007年第六刷版第186頁有一段關於there is的: A sigular of be is often followed by coordinated noun phrases in the written registers: [There] was a huge cake in the dining room, and a band playing outside. (FICT) When he left an hour later [there] was no shrug and not much of a smile. (NEWS) Where a singular noun phrase follows immediately after be, singular concord is the more frequent choice in both speech and writing. This is no doubt a proximity effect. 而且BBC的英語學習網站在回答讀者疑惑時也是寫: The general rule is that the verb form matches the item(s) that it is adjacent to 另外再舉了either..or..為例,顯然它認為there is/are主動詞一致的處理, 和either..or..是一樣的,和上面朗文文法說的proximity不謀而合~ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.50.83 ※ 編輯: noobie 來自: 218.171.50.83 (10/12 13:45)
