All 的位置:
be後: They are all smart.
代後: They all are smart.→本例句版友說有誤。
(查書後只查到這樣的例句: Thy all live together...
所以可以確定的是, 在一般動詞時, 代後是成立的; 但be動詞時就...不知道)

所前: all my students are smart.
3t(the/these/those)前 : all (of) the students are smart.
all of them : all of them are smart.

你的例句應該是V後 用法
所以是 They are all smart.
They all live together.成立
: 所前: all my students are smart.
: 3t(the/these/those)前 : all (of) the students are smart.
: all of them : all of them are smart.
不過以上整理的很清楚 ^^
