[問題] and then的用法？

想請問國二南一版 第七課 and then的用法

可否在 and then 的前面加逗號呢？

課文中兩次出現and then

但一次有加逗號, 一次沒有

(1)We walk across the bridge and then turn right at the first traffic light.

(2)He started his walk from Country Road, and then walked across Red Bridge.

這兩種用法 意思都一樣嗎？
