我對這裡this的翻譯有點意見
我對這段台詞的解讀，斷句上認為應該是
Chances are he's gonna be this, this broken shell of a man, y'know,
so you should try not to look too terrific.
那兩個 this 並不是真的在講「這樣」，
我覺得是有點hesitation,
口語當中有些 this 並不是指示詞，而是套用語言學言談分析的解釋
是 referent known to the speaker but not to the hearer
就是我說時心中有個指涉對象但我猜測你應該不知道
很難用中文對等地去翻，如果是我的話會直接省略掉
因為其實真的不影響解讀。
y'know, well, boy 這些都是discourse marker
功用是在言談上幫助說話者聽話者的解讀
但沒有實質的意義的，如果是字幕工作者一般都會省略（贅字）
（尤其上字幕通常一行都有字數限制）
