Per Mertesacker: Arsenal defender calls time on Germany career
槍手的德國國腳結束國家隊生涯

Per Mertesacker has become the third member of Germany's World Cup-winning
squad to retire from internationals.
至今Per是第三個從這支贏得世界盃的德國隊退休的。

The Arsenal defender, 29, told the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that last
month's 1-0 win in the World Cup final against Argentina marked the end of
his 10-year career with the national side.
這位29歲的槍手後衛告訴南德意志報，上個月德國1-0擊敗阿根廷的世界盃決賽是他國家隊生涯的終點。

"The World Cup in Brazil was a golden conclusion," Mertesacker said.
Mertesacker, who won 104 caps, follows Philipp Lahm and Miroslav Klose in
calling time on his Germany career.

為德國國家隊出場104次的Per跟隨著他兩位德國隊友的腳步結束國家隊生涯。

He added in an interview to be published on Saturday that he "wanted to be
the one to determine the end of this chapter".

Reflecting on the World Cup, Mertesacker said: "They were the eight best
weeks of our lives."
對於世界盃，Per表示那是他們生命中最棒的八週。

The former Hannover and Werder Bremen centre-back is now looking ahead to the
new Premier League season with Arsenal, which kicks off against Crystal
Palace on Saturday.

"I want to win the league with Arsenal and also take a shot at the Champions
League," he said.

Abschluss, für mich ist jetzt der richtige Zeitpunkt gekommen, aus der
Nationalmannschaft zurückzutreten und Platz zu machen für die nächste
Generation", sagt Mertesacker. "Insgesamt bin ich sehr dankbar für diese
Zeit, und ich freue mich darauf, künftig all′ meine Energie meinem Verein
und meiner Familie zu widmen."
「我已經為國家隊效力十年，五次大賽，出賽104場並在巴西贏得世界盃。
這是一個完美的結束。對我來說現在正是離開的時候，並空出位子給下一代年輕人。
總體來說，我對這段時光非常感激。
現在我準備好未來要將我的精力奉獻給我的俱樂部和家庭。」
