CHICAGO -- Carlos Beltran will take swings next Monday to test his injured
elbow before deciding if he will have surgery or not. This is Dr. James
Andrews' recommendation after checking out Beltran's bone spur in his injured
right elbow on Tuesday.

Beltran下禮拜一會開始揮棒，為了測試自己受傷的的手肘，再決定是否動手術。
這是Dr. Andrews給的建議 - Beltran受傷的右手肘有骨刺。


"If he doesn't feel good, then the next stop will probably be surgery,"
Joe Girardi said.

Girardi說如果如果沒有好轉，那下一站就是手術。


Surgery would take Beltran out for eight to 10 weeks, Girardi said.

手術大概會讓Beltran離開8到10周。


Beltran is on the 15-day disabled list with sharp pain in his elbow. He has
had cortisone shots and pills to try to limit the aggravation.

Beltran目前因為手肘疼痛被放進15DL，他已經接受了一些類固醇治療。


"Does he feel he can take his 'A' swing?" Girardi said of what question
Beltran needs to answer on Monday. "You don't want him going out there if he
is taking his 'B' or 'C' swing. That's not going to help us. If he can take
his 'A' swing and not have the pain and not have to hold back, then he is a
player."

Girardi說Beltran需要證明他能繼續有Ａ級的（揮棒）表現，並證明他的傷不會持續
困擾著他。


Girardi said they could work around Beltran having to throw on defense by
using him as the DH, if need be.

having to throw on defense 這邊有點不懂 不知道是不是少打一個not？
如果是not having to throw on defense好像就通了 因為後面是說如果需要Girardi會
讓他打DH。這段請其他人指教 謝謝！


Girardi said that if things go well, then Beltran would likely need to
progress from "dry swings" to eventually taking BP before surgery was
completely off the table. Monday, though, will be the first true test.

如果狀況好，Beltran會從空揮進入到打擊練習，直到確定不需要手術。
但是禮拜一會是第一個考驗。

洋基在簽他的時候應該也有顧慮到
但印象中是擔心他的膝蓋吧？沒想到手肘先出問題
如果可以當然還是希望可以不要手術 但如果真的沒辦法的話...
