[乳摸] Jeff Samardzija, Jason Hammel

Earlier today, I wrote for Sports Rumor Alert that the Atlanta Braves,
Toronto Blue Jays, and Seattle Mariners were among the teams showing the most
interest in Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Chicago Cubs. I'm told
there is another team showing interest in both pitchers.

The Kansas City Royals have been scouting both Samardzija and Hammel,
according to a baseball source. It is unknown how much interest they have.

The Royals were recently thought to be sellers at the deadline, with starter
James Shields being among the top players available on their team. They got
hot and are now only 1.5 games back of the Detroit Tigers in the crowded
American League Central. Because of that, they are now likely to be buyers at
this years trade deadline.

This also isn't the first time that the Royals have expressed interest in
Hammel. In free agency last year, they were one of the finalists to land the
right-hander, according to multiple reports.
