Time flies, suddenly, it has been a year since Macharin arrived Japan.
In this year, we saw her sparing no effort in learning how to be a good
idol. Her smile, her tears, her dance, the happiness you feel when you
shake hands with her, are all precious memories that Macharin has brought
to us. She is our beloved idol, undoubtedly.

Now, let’s walk through the path of Macharin’s idol story, the story of
this Taiwanese girl.

★ Who is that girl from Taichung?

Ma Chia-Ling was born in Kaohsiung and then grew up in Taichung, Taiwan.
It was Taichung city’s friendly atmosphere that made Chia-Ling such an
adorable girl.

Before Ma Chia-Ling joined AKB48, she had failed six times before in
different auditions. However, she never gave up her dream of becoming an
idol. On December 16, 2015, Ma Chia-Ling was chosen from 2152 candidates
to become the only winner of "AKB48 Taiwan Audition". Her life has totally
changed ever since.

Ps. Actually, 17 girls were revealed to have completed the audition on
August 17,2015. But in the end, only Macharin got the chance to be active in
Japan. Right now, there are still several girls staying in Taiwan as "AKB48
Taiwan understudies".(AKB48台灣研究生)

★ Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Ma Chia-Ling made her debut on December 16th, 2015 at the concert
of "AKB48 Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen 2015"(紅白対抗歌合戦). The
song she sang was the well-known "Heavy Rotation".

Macharin soon caught every audience's eyes. Although she sang poorly,
danced poorly, and even appeared to be very nervous on the stage, her

★ Peko peko! Feeling hungry? Want to try some "Macha Azuki omelet"?

What Macharin is most interested in is "cooking". She has cooked several times
in her showroom live-broadcasting. From dumplings to noodles, she often shares
the photos of the food she made in her mobile mail. Among those food, the most
special one might be the "Macha Azuki omelet".(抹茶紅豆蛋餅)

★ On the stage - Falling in love to my sunshine

There are two stages(公演) that Macharin has been participating right now.

She made her stage debut on stage called "Right now I'm falling in love"
(ただいま恋愛中) and her unit song was "First love at 07:12"(7時12分の初恋).
Currently, she is also performing in the stage of "My Sun"(僕の太陽) and her
unit song is "Please don't call me idol".(アイドルなんて呼ばないで)

However, things are not always going so smoothly. Frankly speaking, although
there is still a lot of room for improvement, Macharin's dance skill somehow
becomes her biggest weak point. Clearly, Macharin cannot keep up with
the pace of other members' move, even Japanese netizens noticed that.

Macharin herself realizes this problem very well. The frustration even made
her cry several times. However, she is trying her best to improve her dance
skill right now. Recently, we can see that she actually improves a lot,

★ Aikatsu Stars in between Japan and Taiwan

In addition to the activities in AKB48, Macharin is also the celebrity endorser
of a card game call "Aikatsu Stars"(偶像學園). Thanks to this identity, she went
back to Taiwan many times to conduct fan meeting with AKB48 Taiwan

It's a pity that this Aikatsu is actually a card game for little girls, so it's
somehow a little bit awkward to see so many Wota attending this kind of
event. But, since it is like killing two birds with one stone, we are sincerely
looking forward to see more Macharin in any future Aikatsu events.

Macharin has lots of good friends in AKB group, but recently, there are rumors
saying that she is actually a "rorikon"(ロリコン).

Here are some brief introductions of Macharin's best friends:

Tano_Ayaka(太野彩香) from NGT48

Her nickname is Ayakani(アヤカニ). She can speak and write Chinese.
She and Macharin are at the same age. It is hard to tell how old she is since
she possess such a young face and fair skin.

Sei_chan is one of the seniors who she considers to be her closest friends.
Sei_chan is a very optimistic and considerate girl. Sei_chan I love you.

Her nickname is Ayu(あゆ). Born in 2002, she is a cute little girl who likes
to tell funny jokes. Macharin seems to be falling in love with her because
she keeps on yelling words such as "Ayu is so cute!", "I wanna take Ayu home!",
"I want Ayu to be my sister!". Somebody call the FBI please.

★ You are the apple of my eye

In Japan, reaching 20 years old means that a girl must now become a
woman. However, it's not the same in Taiwan. 20, a magical age, is the
year of many girls' happiest memories, saddest memories, full of laughter
and tear. It's an age that we just start to learn and realize that we can no
longer be a child anymore. If Chia-Ling had failed the audition, would
she be just as same as us, attending and skipping classes, hanging out
with some friends, maybe having a little romance with a cute boy, wondering
and planning for the uncertain future?

But Chia-Ling did not choose that path.

Unlike us, she is now striving for survival in Japan, fighting alone.
Her Japanese may not be that good, she may not be the best person to
be a idol, her dance is still a little bit awkward, even us and her cannot
be sure if she will suddenly be sent back to Taiwan or not. Nevertheless,
what we see is Chia-Ling trying so hard to make us happy in every
second, every stage, and every moment. We see a young girl giving up her
school, only for chasing an uncertain dream in between the concrete
jungle of Tokyo. Yes, she may not be the cutest idol in AKB group, and
the burden on her shoulder might be something that we can never imagine.
But, why we love Chia-Ling so much is because of her unwavering
determination toward challenge, why we love her so much is because of her
staunch braveness toward difficulties, why we love her so much is
because -
                  - she is a courageous Taiwanese, just like you and me.

We wish Chia-Ling to have a bright future in her idol activities. We will
keep on supporting her, because her smile is the best gift we can ever get.
