年終賽混雙前瞻：小心喬梅

After months of promising to land a big title, things finally fell in place for
Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti in October.

在數月懷有希望地獲得重要頭銜，喬梅兩人參賽的事在十月終於明朗化。

When the Indonesian pair found their groove, they landed not one, but two titles
 – that too, in successive weeks – the Denmark Open and the French Open.

這對印尼混雙找到他們的位置，他們不僅拿到了一個，而且是連續拿到兩個頂級賽的冠軍（
丹麥、法國公開賽）。

During a season that was for the most part dominated by Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qi
ong and Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping, Jordan and Oktavianti’s two-week run eleva
ted them to a level alongside the big-stage achievers. What was noteworthy about
 their performance in Europe was that they beat Zheng/Huang and Wang/Huang in th
e two finals; indeed, in Denmark, they beat both pairs during the week. After fa
lling in four finals this year, it was a strong statement by the Indonesians tha
t they wouldn’t be relegated to the ranks of the also-rans.

在雅思、王黃掌控大半賽季的情況下，喬梅這兩週的表現把他們抬升到頂尖選手之旁。值得
注意的是他們在歐洲的表現，是分別在兩個決賽裡擊敗雅思與王黃。而且在丹麥公開賽，他
們兩個更是連過這兩組中國混雙。在今年四入決賽後，這組印尼混雙強烈宣告他們不再是落
後的失敗者。

“If we look back from the beginning of the year until the French Open, we had e
ntered the finals of different levels – Super 300, 500 and 750. The finals in D
enmark Open and French Open happened to be our peak and gave us the breakthrough
,” says Jordan.

「如果我們回顧從季初到法國賽這段時間，我們在不同級別的比賽都進入決賽（300、500、
750賽）。丹麥與法國公開賽決賽恰好是我們的顛峰，給予我們突破的空間」喬丹說道。

Did beating Zheng and Huang in the Denmark Open quarterfinal, after six straight
 losses, prove to be the turnaround that they were looking for?

六連敗後在丹麥賽八強擊敗雅思，是否了證明這是他們所尋求的轉機？

“All of this is part of a process of improvement,” says Jordan. “If you look
back to the All England, we were actually very close to beating Zheng Si Wei and
 Huang Ya Qiong. Our previous matches were always straight games losses, so it w
as progress for us.

「這些都是進步歷程的一部份，」喬丹說。「如果我們回頭看全英賽，其實我們跟雅思打得
很接近。我們之前的比賽總是一直輸球，所以這次對我們來說是個進步。」

“At the beginning of the year, we met Wang Yi Lyu and Huang Dong Ping three tim
es but lost all three.  We found our peak in October and managed to perform well
. It was really difficult to beat them, but we also want to have titles and not
be content with finishing in finals.”

「從今年開始，我們遇到王黃三次都輸。我們在十月的時候到達顛峰而且表現地很好。要擊
敗他們真的很困難，可是我們也想奪冠，不甘心只打進決賽。」

Jordan and Oktavianti are in only their second year together. Jordan earlier had
 a moderately successful stint with Debby Susanto, while Oktavianti was with Ron
ald Alexander, and briefly with Alian Eko Prasetya.

喬梅重組目前只有第二年。喬丹之前跟蘇珊托搭檔的時候取得了一些成績。當時梅拉蒂則跟
亞歷山大、普拉塞特亞等短暫搭檔。

Early in their partnership that began in 2018, Jordan and Oktavianti were runner
s-up at the India Open and finished the season ranked No.15. They have continued
 on the upward trajectory this season, breaking into the top 5.

在2018年他們開始合作關係之始，喬梅兩人就拿到了印度公開賽亞軍，而且年終世界排名第
十五。本季他們的表現持續上升，達到了世界前五。

“We think that the ‘click’ in the partnership is important,” says Oktavianti
. “The core of the partnership is already there; there are small elements that
are important as we are playing doubles, such as team spirit and communication.
As long as we have good communication and support each other, things will surely
 will work out. We have found the right formula. Having become champions now, we
 know how to prepare ourselves better, be confident, and not let ego get between
 each other.”

「我們認為在合作關係中，友好最為重要。」梅拉蒂說。「合作關係的核心已經存在了。打
雙打的時候有些微小的因素很重要，比如說是團隊精神與互相溝通。只要我們有良好的溝通
並互相支持，事情絕對能運作順利。目前我們已經找到了正確的互動模式。現在我們奪冠之
後，更加知道如何準備地更好、更有自信，而不是過於自我。」

While Jordan/Oktavianti are among the favourites, here are the other top contend
ers:

雖然喬梅是奪冠熱門之一，不過也有其他的頂尖競爭者：

Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong – Will be going for a ‘Super Grand Slam’ as they
have won all three Super 1000 events and the World Championships. The World Tour
 Finals is the only big event missing from their resume.

雅思：他們拿了三個1000賽冠軍、世錦冠軍，快要拿到超級大滿貫了。不過在這份完美的履
歷中，剛好少了年終賽冠軍。

Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping – Through the early season, picked up the top-tier
titles that eluded Zheng/Huang, including the India Open, Badminton Asia Champio
nships, and Japan Open.

王黃：在賽季之初他們拿了雅思尚未企及的頂級賽冠軍，包括印度公開賽、亞錦賽跟日本公
開賽。

Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai – This was their breakthrough ye
ar, as they won the Singapore Open, followed by the Korea Open.

德沙：這是他們突破性的一年，他們拿了新加坡、韓國公開賽冠軍。

Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino – Started and finished the season well, with titl
es at the Malaysia Masters and Hong Kong Open, but also endured rough patches in
 between.

東渡：賽季的開端跟最終都表現得很好（譯注：去年也是有始有終），拿到了大馬大師、香
港公開賽冠軍。不過在賽季中經歷了艱難的過程。
