The A's have acquired left-handed reliever Jake Diekman from the Royals, a
source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

The clubs have not confirmed the deal.

The Royals are receiving two prospects -- a center fielder and right-hander
-- in the deal, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.

Diekman, an eight-year veteran, signed a one-year deal with the Royals in the
offseason. And that club-friendly contract -- he is owed less than half of
his $2.75 million deal -- and his power fastball (97-98 mph) and wipeout
slider made him attractive to suitors. His ERA is high (4.75), but he 63
strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings.
