之前Ken Rosenthal有提過

工會希望擴編季後賽要採取保送勝制度(ghost win)

藉此獎勵球隊去搶分區龍頭

Union proposed “ghost win” in 12-team format and floated same idea in 14-team 
plan, sources say.  In best 2-of-3 wild-card round, other two division winners w
ould start with one-game advantage while playing entire series at home. League n
ot receptive thus far.

While the players agreed to a playoff expansion from 10 to 12 teams, they would 
consider expanding to 14 -- MLB's preferred number -- but only if the three-game
 wild card series include a unique provision. To incentivize winning a division,
 the players have proposed using a "game in hand" or "ghost win," in which a div
ision winner in a three-game wild card series would start the series with "a win
" and need only one more to advance.


若要擴到14隊

工會就一定會要求加入ghost win的機制

讓龍頭在外卡戰保送勝一場

即只需再贏一場就晉級分區系列賽

反之挑戰隊伍則要連贏兩場+沒主場票房賺



註:14隊模式
◎外卡擴編到四隊，也就是各聯盟七隊
◎兩聯盟戰績第一的直接保送到分區系列賽
◎剩餘的兩個分區龍頭自行從外卡後三隊挑對手，打三戰兩勝的外卡賽，外卡一對上沒被挑
的那隊
◎外卡賽由高位種子取得所有主場優勢
