PHILADELPHIA -- The season will come full circle for Philadelphia Phillies start
er Noah Syndergaard and Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander when they face off i
n Game 5 of the World Series on Thursday just as they did in their first starts
of the regular season back in April.

這兩人本季例行賽第一場先發也對決過


Both were coming off Tommy John surgery when Syndergaard beat Verlander 2-0 on A
pril 9.

兩人都剛從TJ手術回歸

Syndergaard had made a couple of appearances late in 2021 before signing with th
e Los Angeles Angels, while Verlander missed all of last season. The two even re
habilitated with the same therapist.

Thursday will be Syndergaard's first World Series start since 2016 as a member o
f the New York Mets, while Verlander's latest outing came in a Game 1 loss Frida
y. The Phillies jumped on him after he threw three perfect innings, scoring a to
tal of five runs in the fourth and fifth on the way to a 6-5 win.
