The Yankees had a deal with Basallo as an amateur before he was eligible to sign
in January 2021.
Then, the Yankees signed Gerrit Cole as a free agent. That cost them $1M in inte
rnational pool money for the 2021 class.
Basallo was cut loose and signed with Baltimore for $1.3M.
當年洋基跟Basallo已經做好口頭承諾
但後來洋基在FA簽到了扣哥
那筆自由市場簽約補強
讓洋基在該年國際球員簽約額度少了1M
Basallo後來才改被金鳥以1.3M簽下
