Australian Travis Bazzana’s rapid rise in Major League Baseball has continued a
fter earning a place on the American League roster for the All-Star Game through
 player balloting.

澳洲球員Travis Bazzana在大聯盟的迅速崛起仍在持續，他透過球員票選成功入選美聯明星
隊名單


Bazzana’s selection as a player-elected reserve comes only a few months after t
he Sydney native made his Major League debut for the Cleveland Guardians in late
 April.

That speaks to just how highly Bazzana’s peers think of the former first overal
l pick, who joins Australian baseball greats David Nilsson, Grant Balfour and Li
am Hendriks as the only other countrymen to receive the honour.

這也顯示出這位前選秀狀元在同儕球員心中的評價有多高，他也因此加入David Nilsson、G
rant Balfour以及Liam Hendriks的行列，成為僅有的幾位曾獲此殊榮的澳洲球員


Bazzana had been slashing .255/.347/.420 with 12 doubles, seven home runs and 27
 RBIs across 57 games at the time of his All-Star selection and while the nod is
 a huge honour for the 23-year-old, you get the sense it is still just the start
 of what he hopes to achieve in putting Australian baseball on the world stage.

截至入選明星賽時，Bazzana在57場比賽中繳出打擊率2成55、上壘率3成47、長打率4成20的
成績，另有12支二壘安打、7支全壘打及27分打點，對這位23歲的年輕球員而言，這項榮耀
固然意義重大，但也讓人感覺，這只是他希望將澳洲棒球推向世界舞台的起點。


“I’m a long way from where I want to take it in terms of the impact back home,
” Bazzana told foxsports.com.au before being drafted.

「就我希望在家鄉帶來的影響力而言，我距離自己的目標還有很長一段路要走」Bazzana在
選秀前接受採訪時表示。


“It’s pretty special to me but I’ve been working towards this and I just want
 to continue that.

“Curtis Mead is up in the big leagues right now. That’s just incredible and I
want to meet him up there with a bunch of the guys and start to really, really h
it the market back home for making Australia a real baseball powerhouse soon.”
