The Midsummer Classic is returning to San Francisco.

Major League Baseball announced on Friday that the Giants have been awarded
the 2028 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. It’ll mark the fourth time
San Francisco has hosted the marquee event and accompanying All-Star Week
activities, which include the Home Run Derby, the Futures Game and the MLB
Draft.
美國職棒大聯盟於週五宣布，巨人隊已獲得由萬事達卡贊助的 2028 年明星賽主辦權。這
將是舊金山第四度舉辦這項盛事及相關的明星賽週活動，其中包括全壘打大賽、未來之
星明星賽以及 MLB 選秀會。
“With its passionate fanbase, world-class ballpark, and rich baseball
history, San Francisco will be an outstanding host for All-Star Week, which
culminates in one of Major League Baseball’s best traditions, the Midsummer
Classic,” MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. “We look
forward to bringing the excitement of All-Star Week and the celebration of
baseball to the Bay Area.”

The Cubs are slated to host the 2027 All-Star Game at Wrigley Field, the
oldest ballpark in the National League.

The Giants last staged the All-Star Game in 2007, when Ichiro Suzuki earned
MVP honors after hitting the first inside-the-park home run in the history of
the Midsummer Classic. The Giants’ lone All-Star representative that year
was Barry Bonds, who fittingly earned the 14th and final selection of his
legendary career at his home ballpark. Other highlights included an emotional
pregame tribute to Bonds’ godfather -- the late, great Willie Mays -- and a
Home Run Derby win from Vladimir Guerrero Sr.
巨人隊上次舉辦明星賽是在 2007 年，當時 Ichiro Suzuki 擊出仲夏夜經典賽歷史上首
支場內全壘打並榮獲 MVP 殊榮。巨人隊當年唯一的明星賽代表是 Barry Bonds，他在自
家主場恰如其份地獲得了他傳奇職業生涯中的第 14 次、也是最後一次入選。其他亮點還

San Francisco also hosted the All-Star Game at Candlestick Park in 1961 and
1984.
舊金山也曾於 1961 年和 1984 年在燭台球場（Candlestick Park）舉辦過明星賽。

Oracle Park (née AT&T Park) has been known for iconic features such as
McCovey Cove, Triples Alley and the Coca-Coca bottle slide since it opened
its doors in 2000, though the Giants have worked to upgrade the area
surrounding the waterfront ballpark in recent years. The Mission Rock
development, which is located across from the stadium, is now home to the
picturesque China Basin Park, as well as several popular local eateries and
restaurants.
甲骨文球場（Oracle Park，前身為 AT&T 球場）自 2000 年啟用以來，就以麥考維灣（
McCovey Cove）、三壘安打巷（Triples Alley）和可口可樂瓶溜滑梯等標誌性特色而聞
名，不過巨人隊近年來也持續致力於升級這座濱海球場周邊的區域。位於球場對面的米遜
石（Mission Rock）開發區，現在擁有風景如畫的中國盆地公園（China Basin Park），
以及多家受歡迎的在地餐館與餐廳。
