“Birthday”和Paul另一首”Wonderful Christmastime”一樣
這類關於節慶的歌多少有點刻意
畢竟創作者期望節慶時人們會播放這首歌
“Birthday”開始幾小節後就失去穩定
鼓來得突然 吼叫來得突然
想到什麼就跳出什麼 許多歌詞沒頭沒尾
或許正因如此
Paul說這首歌是<White Album>唯一一首50%-50% Lennon-McCartney song
John對此曲只說“it was a piece of garbage”
所以我們可以懷疑Paul記錯了百分比
雖然“Birthday”沒有前衛的特效 沒有深沉的隱喻
但它能炒熱氣氛 我想這樣就夠了
用做<White Album>下半場的開場是非常適合的

It's my birthday too, yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you”
Paul經常唱這首歌
“Birthday”是<Back in the World Tour>(2003)固定曲目
2014年披頭四訪問美國50週年的電視特別節目上
Paul表演了7首披頭四歌曲 其中就有”Birthday”
另外1990年他重新發行了現場版的”Birthday”單曲
