【問題】：recipient cells 的產生

版上好，第一次上來發問，剛好最近在看細菌的繁殖模式，看到有關conjugation process
the mating type is based on two cells, one with F plasmid, forming
conjugation bridges by cell-to-cell contacts，所以突然想到，為什麼有的細菌
會沒有 F plasmid? 如果有的菌種可以不需要 F plasmid，那又何必有這個模式來做
transferring，會是要啟動被需求的生理功能嗎?
只希望有個言簡意賅的答案就好，無需深入的答案，感謝分享
