嗨大家～
今天繼續分享Song Machine的歌曲，
Strange Timez。
這首與the Cure的主唱Robert Smith共同演出
的歌曲是在COVID隔離期間以Email方式完成
的。根據Damon訪談之中提到，他收到
Robert的Demo時還處於前一晚的宿醉之中，
而且還跌了一大跤，頭上也腫了一包。他在頭
暈之中開啟了email發現了Robert的信，興奮
到無以復加，深深覺得這狀態和歌名十分呼應
。Robert在這首歌之中幾乎包辦了所有演奏，
其中包括吉他、貝斯、鍵盤，當然也包括獻唱
，有趣的是，其實Damon九歲的姪女也在這
首歌曲中演奏了小號的部分，而Elton John則
是對此讚不絕口。
這首歌的內容以一些隱喻和直白的敘述來表達
2020年是一個非常奇特的時光，包含著Black
Lives Matter、COVID、氣候暖化等問題，也
因此在MV之中，以向法國電影大師喬治梅里
艾致敬般的月球呈現了Robert Smith的角色，
如同以月亮般旁觀者的角度來敘述這個星球現
在面臨的困境。以Gorillaz 來說是非常藝術性
的作品。
此外，Damon本人也一直是Robert Smith和
the Cure的粉絲，他非常期待能夠在這張專輯
中與Robert合唱，可惜在錄製這首歌的時候
，Damon發現他自己的歌聲與Robert非常不
相稱，無法相互融合在歌曲之中，因此
Damon決定保留Robert 的歌聲，自己則以
德國朗誦調（Sprechgesang）的形式演出，
雖然乍聽之下如同不成熟的饒舌般有點不太
習慣，但多聽幾次之後就會感受到這首帶著
Blur 時期Ernold Same或Parklife的感受，個
人認為十分有趣。
