INTERNATIONAL SIGNING RESTRICTIONS LIFTED
Morning, Braves Country!

The holidays are over and it’s time to get into some much-needed Braves news
during this long, dark winter of a lockout. We have entered 2022 as World
Champions and our heads are held as high as they’ve been in YEARS going into
this International Signing period.

The sanctions from the Coppy administration have finally been lifted
completely and AA and his crew can meet the other 29 teams head on and on an
equal playing field…and we’ve got some info of who they could be signing.
As we know all-to-well, the practice of courting the underage players with
under table deals is illegal, but perpetrated by virtually every team in some
way or another. It just so happens that Coppy went Thanos in that category
and tried to corner the market on an entire class… anyway, because of this,
other teams usually back out of scouting players that are known to be in
agreement with a club and focus on another. That gives insiders an idea of
who teams are going after.

In this class, Atlanta has been linked to two top 50 guys so far: an OF named
Douglas Glod and a top 10 SS named Diego Benitez, both from Venezuela.
Benitez is a strong kid, looks to be very capable at SS with smooth action in
the field and promising in the batter’s box. Some believe he’ll get bigger
and move to 3B, but for now, he’s definitely worthy of a top-10 spot.
Glod is a little tougher to judge. He’s about 5’10 and for one reason or
another, scouts tend to think he’s not gonna grow much taller, but he’s a
killer athlete. Scouts think the solid center fielder will profile well as a
corner outfielder, as he further develops and refines his throwing arm, due
to his bat. He’s a dynamic player and was Team Captain on his 15-Under club
for Venezuela.
