Xbox Might Be Working On Including Digital Codes With Its Physical Games

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is hard at work doing everything she can to win people
back on side after a poor run for the platform. There's unquestionably more
good stuff to come, and one of Sharma's in-progress projects might be a
system that bundles digital copies of games with their physical versions.

The latest on a potential disc-to-digital future comes from Windows Central.
Reportedly codenamed Positron, the first details were shared by sources
familiar with Xbox and have been confirmed via the latest Xbox Insider
builds. However, as noted in the original report, any suggestion that Xbox is
headed to a future where buying a physical game will also get you some sort
of digital copy should be taken with a huge pinch of salt, for now.
關於Xbox未來可能推出的「光碟轉數位版」的最新消息來自Windows Central。據稱，該
項目代號為Positron，最初的細節由熟悉Xbox的消息人士透露，並已在最新的Xbox
Insider預覽版中得到證實。然而，正如最初的報導所指出的，目前任何關於Xbox未來將
推出「購買實體遊戲即可獲得數位版」的說法都應持保留態度。

Right now, this is seemingly just what Positron appears to be from the
outside looking in, and it is presumably in its early stages of development
if it exists, hence it still residing under a codename that, to the layman,
doesn't have any connection to what the feature will actually do.
目前看來，Positron 從外部觀察似乎就是這樣，如果它真的存在，那麼它可能還處於早
期開發階段，因此它仍然使用一個代號，而這個代號對於外行人來說與該功能的實際作用

Windows Central's Jez Corden notes that, if the project is what it looks
like, it might mean buying a physical copy of an Xbox game will also mean you
can play that game via the Cloud, or through Xbox Play Anywhere. A
potentially appealing alternative to those who still like to own physical
copies of games, as we head towards a world that seems dead set on leaving
them behind.
Windows Central 的 Jez Corden 指出，如果該項目真如目前所見，那麼購買 Xbox 遊戲
的實體版可能意味著玩家也可以透過雲端或 Xbox Play Anywhere 平台暢玩該遊戲。對於
那些仍然喜歡擁有實體遊戲光碟的玩家來說，這或許是一個頗具吸引力的選擇，因為我們
正朝著一個似乎鐵了心要淘汰實體光碟的世界邁進。
