The 18-year-old helped secure Chelsea's fourth Youth Cup win in six seasons as they beat Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to complete a 5-2 aggregate success. England under 19 international Colkett played a prominent part in their Youth Cup run and also helped the Blues to continental success in the UEFA Youth League a fortnight ago. And he believes training with Jose Mourinho's first team has helped him sharpen his skills - especially watching Spanish star Fabregas. 'I see him sometimes first hand and when I train with the first team, it's about learning from these top class players and taking what you can,' said Colkett. 'They show me what I need to be doing every day and you see how good he is on the ball and how he has adapted to the defensive side which Jose Mourinho likes a lot. 'That's what I'm trying to do, learn off that.' Colkett, who possesses an excellent range of passing and isn't afraid to carry the attack forward, believes he has made progress on the less glamorous side of his game too. Asked which aspect of his game had improved the most, he said: 'I think it's my defensive duties and doing the other side of the game and I think that's something I enjoy doing. 'I want to become that complete, all-round midfielder and then to continue to work on that and work on my strengths as well.' The next challenge for the teenager is to emulate John Terry, who was the last academy graduate to make the Chelsea first team on a regular basis. 'When I train with the first team, the players are dropping comments here and there but obviously John Terry is a great example of what I want to do,' he said. 'He's obviously the last person to do that and he's been great with the young players. '[Their advice is to] make the most of everything day-in, day-out and to keep working hard with this talent. Talent is one thing but working hard to get to that level is the next thing.'
